This prouction of Legally Blonde” was first rate with good casting and every character played so well!

Elle Woods was beautifully cast as the blonde beauty, obsessed with pink, but determined to show the world (and her boyfriend) that she was so much more than that. She had it all, her dancing, singing, and acting were a sheer joy to watch and listen to, alongside Emmett Forrest who performed with feeling and really brought out the essence of what he was about and won the lady in the end.

Paulette gave a great performance as the hairdresser with great charisma and vibe, a plucky character who overcame various problems with unfailing optimism, just the friend that Elle needed when things got tough. Kyle did an excellent job as the delivery man with potential! Great dancing and using the parcels to his advantage.

Warner Huntington III was the archetypal social climber who had to succeed no matter who he trampled on on the way. A dislikeable character, he   played the role magnificently.

Professor Callahan was brilliant. As soon as he came on stage he was in command and exuded an air of authority that dared you to mess with him. His fall from grace was well performed!

Vivienne Kensington, Serena, Margot, Pilar, Brooke, and Enid played their supporting roles impressively, each developing their own characters distinctively with never a foot wrong

The chorus had real strength in dancing, singing, and acting; a strong chorus makes a successful show supporting the principals so well, that the whole show was pacy and seamless.

A wonderful cameo by Dewy, husband to Paulette, who lived in the caravan and who, his stomach hanging out and scratching his belly button had the audience loving every moment! a great piece of comedy alongside the accused man in the dock, who clearly relished every moment of his brief appearance in the spotlight. A slightly dated theme given changing attitudes during the years since the show was written, but no less funny for that.

The set was very effective, with excellent costumes, very good direction, and outstanding choreography

The orchestra was superb, a joy to listen to.

I must also congratulate the backstage crew, who did a super job, making everything run smoothly!

The show had great pace, energy and vigour, a great interpretation and thoroughly enjoyable. I can’t finish without a very special mention of two adorable and very well-behaved dogs!

Thank you for a superb show, Yeovil, and for your warm welcome.
