When Tom and Alice’s honeymoon trip to Miami comes to an abrupt delay due to fog at the airport they were only expecting a short delay overnight at their flat. Things immediately became complicated when Tom’s older brother, Barney, walks in having been promised the use of the flat as a ‘love nest’ with his latest girlfriend Muriel. Matters deteriorate rapidly when they discover they have the wrong suitcases stuffed with cash. Tom’s attempts to return the money to its rightful owner are continually thwarted by the temptation of so much money and the addition of even more when Aunty turns up with her ‘wedding present’.
Steven Coward and Nic Blackmore made the most of their differing characters with good back up from Jemma Vernon and Victoria Husband as Alice and Muriel. Rosie Burke gave a delightful performance as the dotty and later inebriated Aunty, while Danny Hastie was suitably large in stature and voice as Frankie, demanding the money be returned to his boss. The cast was completed by Janice Lewis as the Inspector trying to keep calm as the situation got more farcical and Lana Townend as her Constable.
There was excellent pace throughout, so necessary for this style of play and good teamwork throughout.
Well done everyone.
