“Lark On The Wing” was written by the director and long-time member of Redlynch players, Ron Perry. It is a new play based on the life of  Flora Thompson, perhaps most famous for her compilation book “Lark Rise to Candleford” which was made into a Television series by the BBC several years ago .

Once again Redlynch Players had joined forces with Fordingbridge Players for this production.   Redlynch Village Hall is only a small venue but by using a few well-chosen props and a beautiful backcloth, a wonderful atmosphere was created

The story line of the play had been adapted from an auto biography of Flora Thompsons life.  I thought that it was a magical production that was totally enthralling ,very entertaining and a  wonderful  history lesson.  It was very well put together with lots of humour and emotion.  I was very moved when Flora spoke about the loss of her brother in France during WW1,

Ali Silver playing Flora Thompson was outstanding, I seem to think that she was on stage throughout the whole play, it was excellent performance.  She was supported by a superb cast who portrayed a wonderful array of colourful characters.  The dialogue flowed well throughout and there were  musical interludes to link the many changes scenes and time scales, all performed well, by a very talented musician/singer.   I also thought that costumes were excellent and gave a very authentic look to the play

My congratulations go to everyone involved , It was a most enjoyable evening, both my wife and I came away thinking that we  had just witnessed something very special.
