Kipps: the new Half a Sixpence musial

An utterly joyous production with amazing energy, tap-dancing and spoons-playing galore. Each character was beautifully individualised and very much their own personality, but as a group the effect was only enhanced – they were so entertaining to watch, and extra points for such well-co-ordinated dancing and tight harmonies! The pace of dialogue was energetic, keeping everything moving forward, and the scene changes were also impressively slick, while the choreography was a tour de force of diverse movements and contrasting moods, executed with such enthusiasm and technical skill by the cast – a real delight to watch. The set was evocative and imaginative, the lighting had some beautiful touches to enhance the mood of songs and scenes, and the costumes showed brilliant attention to detail.
