‘Keeping It Together' and Hempstead players are doing just that. On a cold rainy Saturday afternoon we were entertained to a play that goes all wrong. Writer and Director Heather Cornally gave us a good afternoon at Hempstead Church. The church must be turned into a theatre, and I admire them for doing this, not easy. But it was a perfect setting for Keeping It Together. First act we see final rehearsal for a play that the local amdrams are presenting. A multitude of things go wrong, including a member of the cast dying. How the cast Keep it Together I do not know! There are some good performances from most of the cast and all working hard to make things go wrong. With twelve in the cast and all having quite a few lines each, it would be unfair for me to single anyone out, you all worked splendidly as a team. Simple staging and mistakes made this play roll along. In the second act we were treated to a sing along, and plenty of laughs as the dead women is used like a puppet, great! Heather, thank you and your cast of twelve for giving your audience an entertaining afternoon and keep on writing and presenting new plays. It's aways good to see groups do self-penned material. Well done to you all and thanks for inviting me to be part of a new play.
