This wonderfully colourful production was a great choice for this thriving youth theatre, and showcased many of their long standing members. In particular, it gave 17-year-old Sam Lowe as the protagonist, a chance to shine, and that he did. With a secure and confident singing voice, he maintained the energy and dynamism this role requires from start to finish. He was supported by a band of 11 brothers who all worked well together in the set pieces, many of which included humorous elements which have come to be this society’s calling card. Additionally there was an enthusiastic Pharoh (Henry Petch), a charismatic Potipher (Josh Carter) and two strong voiced Narrators (Danielle Long & Jennifer Roberts) along with four dazzling dancers, who worked extremely hard throughout the show and a sweet children’s choir. The simple set was enhanced by the clever use of the rotating back drop. The costumes were vibrant and the props were well conceived, in particular the Ishmaelites camel! The whole show came together with a fizz and flair which was well received by an appreciative audience. Many congratulations to all involved, you clearly all had fun presenting this show.
