Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

The ever popular and famous colourful youth musical, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Lyrics by Tim Rice and Score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, came to the Theatr Brycheiniog Brecon taking months of planning and hard work to achieve the very high standard of this production.

Opening with the Narrators Nansi Jones and Rhiannon Short. who both brought the show alive with their lively clear narration and relaxed introduction.

Obviously centre of the show is Joseph who was played by the exceptional Owain Evans-Taylor, recent award winner at the National Eisteddfodd of Wales. His amazing vocals, acting and stage presence and rapport with his fellow actors, showed great maturity for this role and great promise for any future involvement in theatre.

Owain’s vintage coat of many colours was created so skilfully by Anne O Shea.

A huge cast, all who were so involved in this production every one committed, to excellent stagecraft and enthusiasm for the excellent choreography and movement. The Dancers and the Junior Dancers The Westenders and Mid Wales Dance Academy gave fabulous performances, spot on moves, and interpretation.

Joseph’s Brothers all gave excellent characterisations ,working as a team, bring great humour to these roles and interaction with each other, headed by Jacob, Thomas Denney, well played.,beards for the Brothers was a great touch!

Well done Angharad Allen, Director and Chris Rankin as Lead Producer and Co/Musical Director are both to be praised for their work and also controlling so many on stage it was a huge task , the choreography from Emily Chambers was outstanding

Lighting, sound and set enhanced the atmosphere well,.and costumes were very imaginiative.
