JOSEPH and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, written by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice in 1968 is a timeless musical which has been performed to packed audiences for decades, way exceeding the composer’s expectations from what started life as a school assembly production!

Sarah Cegielski – Narrator – gave a secure and confident performance steering the company and audience as Joseph’s story unfolded in front of our eyes. This role gave Sarah the chance to showcase her fine acting, great voice.

Henley Cegielski – Joseph – gave an effortless portrayal and had an easy unselfconscious stage presence well suited to this role, lending charm to the character. As always Henley’s vocals are spot on and loved his rendition of ‘Close Every Door To Me’

The roles of the brothers were played by; Joshua Clark (Reuben), Ieuan Benney (Simeon), Isabelle Dwyer (Levi), Bethan Thomas (Naphtali), Aled Griffiths (Issachar), iolo Reynolds  (Asher), Isaac Brock (Dan), Grace Whippey (Zebulun), Alfie Ford (Gad), Charlie Thould (Benjamin) and Kieran Griffiths (Judah) supporting each other to form a great team. Each ‘brother’ had an individual character, and collectively looked, acted and sang with confidence.

Smaller roles of Jacob, Potiphar, Mrs Potiphar and Pharaoh were filled by Derek Williams, Lee Turner, Melanie Colbeck-Jones and Geraint Benney with each performer wringing out every moment of their time on stage each with their own particular characterisation.

The chorus worked hard throughout this production ably supporting the cast.

This colourful production was a great choice for this thriving company, and showcased many of their long standing members. The costumes were vibrant and the props were well conceived.

Congratulations to all involved.
