The last time that I saw a production of “ Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”  was over 35 years ago at Leeds Grand, where sixties pop icon Jess Conrad  was starring in a Nationwide tour of the show. It has always remained a favourite of mine, therefore I was very much looking forward to  seeing this latest offering from BBLOC,

In recent years the company have produced a long  list of outstanding musicals, Therefore, I was expecting this production to be of the same high standard and it didn’t disappoint me..  It was yet another amazing show that certainly had the wow factor throughout.  The near capacity audience, absolutely loved it, and  many were up singing and dancing in the aisles during the Mega mix finale.

I thought that each and every member of this very large cast gave an  excellent performance and that  all the principal roles were all outstanding, and together they made a great team. I felt that their singing and the sound  that they produced was equal to if not better than any of  professional touring shows that have performed at this same venue.

The songs that really stood out for me, were the not so well known numbers sang by the  brothers  “ One More Angel” and  “ Those Canaan Days”  which sent shivers down my spine. I thought that it was a excellent example of male harmony singing at its best

The simple staging, combined with superb lighting, provided a very effective set for the cast to perform on and together with the wonderful looking colourful costumes and inspired choreography, it made the overall look of the show very impressive.

The wonderful children were well drilled, they were all very enthusiastic, some of them were very animated, and it was clear that they were relishing being part of this magnificent production.

This was yet another fabulous achievement from this multi-talented company, a virtually faultless production that ticked all the boxes. My congratulations go to all concerned
