After three years without a production, Brighouse Theatre Productions bounced back with Andrew Lloyd-Webber & Tim Rice's fabulous Rock Opera "Jesus Christ Superstar".  This was a powerful well thought out production, that kept the audience spell bound from begining to end.  The minimalistic set was brought to life with some exceptional performances, as they told the story of the last seven days in the life of Christ.  The show burst into life witrh a strong dramatic opening with a full cast.  Jesus of Nazerath (Ben Guilfoyle) gave an outstanding performance and his delivery of Gethsemane showed off his tremendous voice range. Excellent support from Judas Iscariot (Luke Flacks) and a convincing performance from Mary Magdalene (Amy Roche).  The production abounded with good surporting characters, Pontius Pilate, the three Priests and Herod with his light hearted dance number with the dancers.  I really enjoyed the lovey duet from Mary and Peter "Could We Start Again Please".  Words cannot describe this poignant, harrowing story packed with action and told with conviction, truly a credit to the Society.  Good lighting, and the small orchestra complimented the singers without being intrusive. Congratulations to all involved in anyway.
