Yet again this experienced, creative team and performers filled the theatre for every performance and always leaves us wanting more. They always manage to include traditions of panto and up-to-date jokes, famous names and methods of transport! Simon Trot (Marcus Dobson) always lights up the show; this time entering on his scooter and up for any amount of slapstick fun. Dame Trot (Ioan Guile) immediately engaged everyone with her costumes, ad libs and wit.

Daisy the Cow (Harry Edmunds and Bob McIntyre) wore their costume with pride and were involved in the panto throughout – very skilfully played. Harpic, The Golden Harp (Carl Ryan) was a real over the top character which is needed in panto, and as ever had the audience laughing. The Vegetable Fairy (Lynne Baker) wore an unusual fairy costume and conducted her magic with a Welsh leek wand.

More Welsh input from Giant Trump (Gwion Morgan Jones, spoken by Huw Evans). His costume was huge and he managed it very well – not easy to do I imagine. Fleshcreep (Alex Neil) did indeed do just that as the Giant’s henchman and revels in his part as a “baddie”.

As up-to-date as ever, Ms May the Prime Minister (Theresa Jones) was portrayed with skill and an excellent member of the Team throughout. King Boris (Philip Day) shared his enjoyment of his part with us. Jack Trot (Jordan Lloyd Jones) along with Princess Jill (Somee Malik), the young love-match in the show sang a beautiful duet – I would have liked to hear more and no doubt will in future shows.

Let us not forget Henrietta the Magic Hen (Sonia Dobson) who followed along with the action as a very animated puppet keeping us supplied with golden eggs.

For this performance we were delighted by Group 1 children. I have no doubt all 3 groups gave the same slick performance.

Costumes were again very colourful, as was the excellent scenery.

The chorus of Evil Minions, Villagers and dancers were kept very busy with interesting varied choreography, well rehearsed. Elinor Powell again directed the small group of musicians with songs old and new that left us singing along.

Another excellent production from the Wardens who are indeed fortunate to have Richard Cheshire as director again this year. He knows how to use the talent of the Wardens to the full.
