This Society has been performing pantomimes for as long as I can remember and they always have it just right.
This was quick paced, colourful and great fun. All the principles were experienced and extremely good in their parts.
Nick Brimble (Simple Simon) made a welcome return to the stage with a very good performance and both adults and children joined in with him with gusto, as they did with Scarper and Snatchet ( Lee James and Kerry Morgan)
The villains Piccallili ( Jess Jones) and Rancid the Ratman ( Ryan Salter) had the audience booing and hissing and Dame Dotty Dimple ( Nathan Taylor) had us both laughing and loving the costumes.
There was plenty of thigh slapping from Jack ( Lee rose Walsh) and a lovely performance from Princess Perimrose ( Kristin Parsons).
All in all this was a “Proper” pantomime with all the traditions and characters we have come to expect. Choreography was spot on , as always , and the little ones were a joy to watch.
My only observation was the chorus and dancers singing was not strong enough and at times we could barely hear them, which was a shame as on the whole the music choices were good.
I really enjoyed this show. Thank you for your kind invitation, and long may you continue.
