Celebrating 20 years of Topper’s Drama Club with this challenging Sondheim musical The junior version of Into The Woods. A company who takes on the challenge of the unusual and makes it a success. I wondered how you would manage these challenging Sondheim numbers and yet you were all incredible! Tiny ones paced the music and came in on time with their solos and ensemble numbers. Fox anyone, but not these confident youngsters! Toppers in a class of their own, every detail is there, nothing ever over looked Every scene was superb explained by the clear voiced Narrators Carys Brain, Milly Evans and Paris Coughlin. Well played by Sadie Jones, the Baker who explains to his wife, played sensitively by Emily Blanchard that a curse has made them childless. They must find 4 items for a magic potion to lift the curse and this is their quest, meeting many interesting characters on the way. The Witch, Katherine Bruten gave an outstanding performance super singing voice and acting ability. The Wolf, Cariad Williams full of expression along with Cinderella, Kate Clayden and Milky White, Victoria Williams Everyone of the delightful characters played their parts very well and the big ensemble numbers were full of life, choreographed to perfection in this excellent musical. Well done to Rachel, Holly, Emma and Emily Creative costumes by ACE Costumiers/Lilian Harris, lighting, sound and set were all a very high standard. A stunning performance all round, making this a fitting tribute to your 20 years of Drama. Congratulations! All the best for the future Toppers!
