There was a very creative set with timber to represent woods, a raised platform at the back and a charming moon made of wood. Milky White the Cow was ingeniously made with a series of different sized white rings and a head strung together and was expertly operated by Charlotte. There were also white birds on sticks that ‘fluttered’ in to Cinderella and looked extremely effective. Lighting was excellent. I liked the red when Prince Charming was shaking the blood out of the golden slipper. Giant shoes that were carried in to represent the giant also worked well. The costumes were fabulous, as was hair and makeup and a good assortment of props completed the look. There were so many lovely and clever touches in this production that were all
expertly handled and very effective. Very well done!

The Baker (Davey) had a very natural easy manner and was a pleasure to watch. Likewise the Baker’s wife (Leonie) looked very at home on stage and gave an outstanding performance. Her vocals were excellent and she acted the part brilliantly.

Cinderella (Liberty) had a lovely voice and her timing was spot on. There are so many fast lyrics which Liberty handled with ease.

Little Red Riding Hood (Grace) was suitably feisty and brought both innocence and maturity to her performance.

The Witch (Tirion) spat out the words at a pace for her first song, which is extremely fast and gave an assured performance.

Rapunzel (Bex) sang well and was compelling as the slightly deranged princess in the second half.

Cinderella’s Prince (Morgan) and Rapunzel’s Prince (Tom) were hilarious, with over the top movements and plenty of fabulous (and intentional) over acting. Great fun and very entertaining.

Jack (Ellie) also sang very well and had good timing.

The rest of the principals all played their parts with good characterisation and completed a very strong cast.

The Musical Director, Luke, delivered a strong musical performance from the well rehearsed company. With such a complex score to navigate the backing track clearly presented its challenges. However, on the whole they kept in time and sang with the required vocal dexterity and good diction.

This was a really well directed and creative production by Jamie. The stage was well managed at all times and all of the movement was timed to perfection. All in all a very enjoyable and entertaining performance, well rehearsed and cleverly put
together. Congratulations to all involved.
