Hound of the Baskervilles

Very popoular with a large audience this modern dramatisation of the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery combined humour and suspense. Good characterisations, set and effects made up for a somewhat thin and dated script, to my mind. Written to be set in one room, with much of the action happening offstage, this producton nevertheless kept the audience guessing as to the outcome, aided by the playwright adding his own twists to the established plot.
