What is there not to like in this show? Cole Porter's wonderful songs and a fascinating story with a happy ending. Each character in this production was well portrayed, both principals and smaller parts. All were well cast and worked together as a wonderful team. Special mention must be made of Catriona Houston - she was really great as the somewhat annoying younger sister - with youngsters of this calibre coming up through the ranks of Young EODS, the future of this company is assured. Excellent work as well from the ensemble, both in singing and dancing. All had their own characters and were obviously enjoying themselves. The Band of talented musicians made a great sound but were never overpowering to those on stage. The cast were all dressed exactly for the period - good work from Wardrobe, Hair and Makeup. The upmarket style of the programme was ideal and made interesting and informatuve reading with good use of colour. The many scene changes were handled with dexterity. Many thanks to all involved for bringing such enjoyable entertainment to the Devonshire Park Theatre Eastbourne.
