High Society

KLOS performed "High Society" for their autumn production. They used a clever single basic set enabling the action to be continuous and a large, well drilled chorus of 'servants' to create the different locations by moving bits of scenery and furniture efficiently into place whilst singing.  This stage version slightly changes the presentation of some of the musical numbers but their full use of chorus and cast in many songs made for a tuneful, fast moving, 'feel-good' musical.   Cole Porter's music abounds throughout - some written originally for this musical and some added from other of his shows.  Talented priciples recreated a credible story and there were plenty of humorous moments but it is Porter's music (well sung here) that makes this show memorable.
