I have to admit having never seen the film of this show, but my Granddaughter, who accompanied me, assured me I would love it. She was right, this production was bright, breezy and everyone left with a smile, while also humming “We’re All in this Together”, which stuck in my head for days…Thank you very much.

This was mainly a youth production and was very well performed. As in all societies there appeared to be a shortage of male performers and some of the male parts were played by females, but I have to say this was handled very sympathetically, and if I didn’t have someone with me who had seen the film  I would not have known the difference.

Gabriella and Troy (Hazel Guppy and Carl Fielding) gave good solid performances and were well cast, and both had pleasant singing voices.

Sharpay Evans and Ryan Evans (Rhianna Thomas and Ethan Cooke) what great comedy parts they are, both had the comic timing just right, and Rhianna’s characterisation was spot on.

The Choreography, on a relatively small stage was lively, and had obviously been well rehearsed as was all the singing and chorus work. I have said before that singing to back tracks is a very difficult thing to master and well done to Kevin Allen for keeping everything on track.

This was a production that was enjoyed by everyone both on stage and off.

Thank you for your invitation, and I hope to see you again soon
