For those of you that are unfamiliar with this play then I can recommend it as funny, poignant and entertaining, ideal for companies that want to stretch a couple of their actors. The writer, Peter Souter has written widely for radio but this is his first venture into the theatre. The structure of the play involves a series of duologues between Alex and Juliet exploring a host of daily situations and experiences. These are very funny and hang together well as we see Alex and Juliet’s relationship develop and then fall apart. However, a significant twist to the story line makes for a charming ending.

For the Woodhouse Players, Alex and Juliet were superbly cast and together with a first-class directing team this collaboration presented a play of the highest quality. The two lead characters are certainly not parts for inexperienced actors and require good technical skills, stamina and an ability to learn many lines. Two cameos join the play which makes for a highly entertaining four hander.

The play is relatively easy to stage being set in a contemporary apartment with limited furnishings, although there are one or two unusual props. If anyone is looking for something different then please feel free to reach out to the Woodhouse Players to find out more.
