This concert of Heaven and Earth had a great atmosphere from beginning to end, Mike Canning had really done his homework with a splendid programme of delightful variations on the theme of the title, and the first half got off to a fabulous start with Heaven Bound and God Only Knows.

Soloist Emily Killeen gave a good performance of What a Wonderful World. Stars fell on Alabama with soloist Leala Watson was super and soloist Yvonne Youles nearly stole the first half with a great rendition of River deep, Mountain High.

Catch a Falling Star. Well done to Christine Gregory she pitched it just right!

Soloist Steph Morgan put her all into Part of Your World, just brilliant.

The first half finished with Angels, and I couldn’t wait for the second half even though the supper we had in the interval was so delicious.

I wasn’t disappointed! Fly me to the Moon was really up beat and superbly sung by Andy Kirby followed good singing from the men of the choir with a rendition of Angel in Blue Jeans.

Buffy Fouracre gave a powerful performance of Show me Heaven, a really professional performance! And I loved Bridge over troubled Water, super rendition.

Gods Own Country was well sung by Heather Barlow and Gillian Makenzie. A great performance by two good soloists.

Skyfall, a difficult one to sing but Nicky Gould gave a truly haunting performance with great feeling.

Stairway to Heaven with Michelle Glover as the soloist, super!

Seventh Heaven was sung was so well. A show stopper, just simply brilliant!

The band played wonderfully well, not just accompanying the singing but a most enjoyable performance on its own. A special mention to the Guitarist Frazer Morgan, a great sound!

CODS are a very talented company and their ability to perform a choral concert of this quality as well as their various musical and dramatic performances must be applauded. Great credit must go to their Chorus Master, Mike Canning obviously inspires them with such verve and enthusiasm. A super evening of sheer enjoyment.

Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and I do hope to attend some of your future shows in my new role as Southwest Councillor for NODA

Thanks once again
