THE WORLD OF BROTHERS GRIMM

Overall this group of youngsters performed their piece very well. Each of the actors knew their lines, produced believable characters and the piece flowed without any glitches. The main thing for the young performers to work on is their speed of delivery. Some of the dialogue was lost because they spoke too quickly. At some points the performers found they were tripping over their words – another consequence of speaking a little too rushed. By slowing down this will help alleviate their verbal stumbles and offers opportunities to play with the inflection and intonation of their lines. Other than that, all of the young performers spoke at a very good volume (something that youngsters tend to find difficult on stage, but not with this group!) The most important point was that they clearly enjoyed themselves (and the audience did too!).

DEATH IN CHARACTER
The second performance of the evening was the amusing one act play about a drama society facing eviction from their theatre. After the last meeting at the theatre, two of the members met their death from a stage weight whilst they were dressed as a pantomime horse. This was no accident however, so who could have carried out this dastardly deed?
