This engaging pantomime blends the classic fairy tale with a circus, where the three bears help to save it from the wicked rival ringmaster Henkel. The beautifully painted backdrops and props were very impressive, as were the plentiful and colourful costumes.

Silly Billy’s (AJ) performance was really terrific. He had a good pace and energy throughout and an excellent rapport with Dame Gertie and the audience. He also adlibbed brilliantly when required and was a delight to watch on stage. Very well done.

Dame Gertie Dollop (Jamie) was fabulous. Such a natural performer with an amazing connection with the audience and full of cheeky ad libs which went down a storm. She also had a suitably outrageous assortment of costumes and made the most of all of her many scenes. An outstanding performance.

Ringmaster Heinkel (Astrid) was an excellent baddie, delivering her lines with menace, confidence and perfect diction. I loved the many different names the cast gave her throughout the production, my favourite being Claudia Heinkelman on account of the black bob and long fringe. Of course, every villain needs a slightly dimmer sidekick and Snot
(Eleanor) was amusingly subservient in that role.

Goldilocks (Elsa) brought a warm bright energy to the stage and had a lovely singing voice. She also acted and danced well.

Baron Wasteland (Ben) played the doting father well and transitioned into the circus strongman convincingly.

Daddy (Ross), Mummy (Claire) and Baby (Jasmine) Bear all acted well, the latter proving to be a good dancer too. There was a nice rapport between them and they provided some enjoyable moments.

Mystic Sharon (Katherine) was a charming foil to the baddie; everything you would want in the good fairy role.

The ensemble were delightful, providing some good vocals and well energised reactions to the plot. They also danced well and the youngest members of the cast were just as well rehearsed and competent. They worked together really well and should feel proud of their performances.

This was a really excellent production, fast paced, funny and flawlessly executed. The adult humour was plentiful and hilarious, the set and costumes very professional and the cast superb. The small live band was also much appreciated. Another triumphant pantomime which thrilled the packed audience. Many congratulations to all involved
