Ghosts

Congratulations to Woodhouse Players for choosing Ghosts by Henrick Ibsen for their September production. Ibsen is acknowledged as a brilliant 19th century storyteller, whose exploration of elemental topics had been largely suppressed in literature and rarely explored on the amateur stage. Ghosts was thought provoking, challenging and a wonderful drama.

This play gives little support by way of action, movement or dramatic devices and requires the actors to engage their audience with character, intense line delivery and relationship acting. This is a big challenge for any drama group but one that the Woodhouse Players rose to and delivered an excellent production.  

Gill Taylor directed with purpose and intention and drove the story line through some excellent acting. This team certainly produced a performance of true quality which demonstrated that demanding plays, such as Ghosts, are within the repertoire of good local theatre societies. Thank you for bringing it to your audiences.
