Ghost The Musical

CUDOS took a leap of faith when they chose Ghost! Based on the famous 1990 film featuring Patrick Swayze and the iconic Potters Wheel! Never afraid of a challenge CUDOS transformed their stage into a cinemagraphic experience! With a constant projection of bustling Manhattan. New recruit Joseph Brown was responsible for making this happen, undertaking the role of Projectionist and also the task of lighting this mammoth production.

One of the other main elements and key to the overall success of this production was the choreography; it was carefully constructed by Vikki Rolley working within the limitations of space and the company who executed it with military precision. Together Joseph and Vikki produced the visual highlights of production, one of these being the packed subway train when Sam and Subway Ghost (Angie Eason) meet! In addition to the fast moving projection the stage was a black box with a pop of red. Simple and effective, with use of minimal props and set. Nick Harris (Sam Wheat) and Danika Gawronski (Molly) had a lot of expectation on their shoulders to bring these two iconic characters to life! Tom Lowe as Carl Bruner also had a difficult role to play, good guy turned bad! Not an easy task for even a seasoned actor!

Unfortunately natural chemistry isn’t always present between all actors!  So when they have to  portray any level of intimacy on stage it requires careful direction so the actors and audience don’t feel uncomfortable! CUDOS were blessed in having multi talented Sammii Tyali to fill Oda Mae Brown’s shoes! ‘Are you a Believer?’ was one of the highlights of the night. Throughout the production the company work and singing was strong and worked as links to keep the action moving. Not an easy show to produce but you did it!
