The set consisted mainly of four beautifully painted flats that were turned as required, delightful little Tyrolean type beds and a chest with a model that the young girls built into Olaf. The back stage crew worked very quickly to get the scene changes complete with the minimum of fuss. Costumes were lovely and included gorgeous purple dresses with an embroidered centre panel and ribbons for the little ones, white ballet skirts and leotards for the snowflakes, a pretty green dress for Anna and a very well orchestrated ‘reveal’ of the famous blue sparkly dress for Elsa. All of the costumes, hair and makeup were of good quality and impactful.

Anna (Alexa) had great energy and gave a confident performance with strong vocals.

Elsa (Evelyn) also sang well, especially the famous ’Let it go’, with a powerful voice and good acting skills.

Rose was delightful as Olaf the snowman and added a touch of humour to the show.

Hans (Oscar) had a very deep, resonant voice and really looked and acted the part of the handsome hero. He also moved around the stage with confidence which suited the role.

The young and middle Elsa (Aurelia and Lorretta) and the young and middle Anna (Amelie and Lily) were terrific, especially little Anna who gave a punchy performance. However, it was a shame that the backing track was too loud to clearly hear them.

Pabbie (Megan) and Bulda (Alice), the healing spirits, made the most of their scenes and performed well. Likewise, Kristoff (Cameron) and Sven the reindeer (Grace) were a good pairing, delivering their lines with confidence and making the most of their scenes together. Weselton (George) gave a characterful performance and Oaken (Samuel) was a little star; so charismatic.

The Snow chorus looked lovely in their ballet skirts and moved well around the stage. The Townspeople also moved and sang well, as did the other principals. This was a good team effort from everyone on the stage and everyone had worked hard to achieve such a good standard in only a week of rehearsals. There was some interesting dancing, choreographed by Kate, and I especially enjoyed the up tempo numbers ‘Hygge’ and ‘Fixer Upper’.

Unfortunately, the backing track was a little too loud in the performance we watched and some microphone placements not quite right, so it was difficult to hear the words to the songs and dialogue on occasion. However, the cast performed with good energy and commitment and had been well rehearsed by Musical Director Samuel.

Direction was well organised by Noah and the whole production was a terrific achievement in only one week. The whole cast and production team had worked incredibly hard to put on a very accomplished and enjoyable production and it was clear everyone on the stage and in the audience very much enjoyed it. Well done to all involved.
