Four Freaks From Iowa

Written and directed by a very accomplished member of the company, this extraordinary story of the Cherry Sisters, by reputation “The Worst Act in Vaudeville” would have been a revelation to most of the audience. Entertaining and informative, a strong female quartet led what was essentially a fine ensemble production, with multiple opportunities for supporting players to build characters out of cameo roles. Action moved swiftly over its forty year time span within a theatre space which is not the easiest to exploit to best advantage.
