Footloose is principally a song and dance musical with quite an interesting story line about young people's fight to dance and play modern type music. The outstanding choreography by Dee Bennie Marshall was without doubt the most fantastic feature of this brilliant production by both the dancers and chorus ensemble. The casting thoughout was amazingly strong in all roles Sam Hague (Ren) and Chloe Jackson (Ariel) both have already wonderful pedigrees of major roles in their repertoire both singing dancing and acting with complete assurance and style. Ian Fryer (Rev. Shaw Moore) and Rachel Marshall (Vi Moore) two of the most experienced and best principals working in amateur productions in Yorkshire they both gave impeccable performances. I was most impressed by two other performances Charlotte Hucknall (Rusty) and Matthew Roddis (Willard Hewitt) two very eyecatching performers that did much to enhance this production as did all the remaining very experienced minor principals. The orchestra gave a very lively accompanyment to the production and all the backup crews are to be congratulated on another superb show.
