Huddersfield Light Opera Company, Lawrence Batley Theatre
I have to say that I am not the greatest lover of Sondheim music but I did think this was a really splendid production. The casting was very strong and in great depths that this show so very much requires. The four main couples who portrayed the young and old aspects of their lives from the early forties to the early seventies were especially outstanding. The set was simple but well made organised and designed. The musical director did well with the difficult Sondheim score and the choreography was of a high standard. I think Nigel Dixon can be delighted with this, his first venture into the production side of Musical Theatre.
