It was an absolute delight to be invited to see Quince Players’ junior production of Finding Nemo jr. with a large strong cast and key technical roles fulfilled by the Society’s junior members. The product of the five-day Summer school which included the attendees creating elements of the set, lighting and chorography as well as learning the songs and blocking, it was a very good-looking show with all the characters familiar to even the older audience members from the 2003 movie. The title is a perfect vehicle for such a project and was very well chosen as a first entirely junior production for the society.

There was a very big cast of 25 and the show gave each a moment centre stage as well as showcasing the more experienced performers in the leading roles. The excellent music tracks and wonderful hired animated projections really set the scenes well and created bright vibrant pictures with the lively and energetic young cast and some very good puppets.

It was clear from the cast biographies in the programme that these talented young people have a real passion for the Theatre and music and have enjoyed the experience of creating the show and developing their performance confidence. Many have clearly been members for several years already with experience of the societies main shows and it is to be hoped that the society will nurture and encourage them all to develop as performers in future shows. The parents and society must have been rightly proud of the overall production.
