Fame

What an excellent evening's entertainment, with immense energy and enthusiasm, these young people all gave inspirational performances.  I especially enjoyed the interpretation of Carmen Diaz (Bethany Martin) who gave a consummate performance.  Nick Piazz, (Liam Grant) Serena Katz, (Catherine Otyelhel) Tyrone Jackson, (Dominic Moska) each gave a good all round performance.  I was equally blown away by the OTT and panache of Joe Vegas (Ethan Marescaux)  There was great support from all other cast members and chorus alike.  They were all held in check by the strong confident portrayal of the four teachers, especially Miss Sherman (Phillipa Hartley) who delivered her song "These are my Children" beautifully.  This is the kind of show children love to perform all hoping that one day this will happen for them.  Their new Musical Director Ned Smith was a former HLOS Junior himself, and had only performed at University proir to this.  It proves what an excellent training these children are given and they have obviously soaked it up like a sponge.  A basic but effective set was all that was needed and made an excellent background for the big full company choreographed numbers.  The applause from the audience said it all. Congratulations all round.
