It is a brave company that chooses to perform "Endgame" by Samuel Beckett. It is a "despairing play" about hopelessness and despair wherein nothing really happens and the characters are merely waiting for the way out of their situation which would appear to be their death. Although one of the characters, Nell, does cease to exist during the performance it is very much a 'non-event' marked only by her husband withdrawing into his dustbin to cry. The four characters are, apparently, the sole survivors of an apocalyptic event and remain trapped in this weird construction reminiscent of a skull.  This was a most interesting production with quality performances and the occasional humorous episode, leading to an edifying and entertaining experience.
