What a lovely start to Christmas, the hall was decorated instead or rows there were tables to sit around.

The opening with the Chorus was colourful and some of us got a mince pie.

This well known story was made up of Christmas carols and songs from the musicals Scrooge and Muppet Christmas Carol. We got the chance to join in at several stages and it all added to the lovely atmosphere.

The Narrator (Oliver Skinner) gave us a very good, mature and confident performance, and kept the story running, Well Done.

Ebeneezer (Andrew Rigden) gave just enough of the character of the part without being too nasty. Down trodden Bob Cratchett ( Will Jones) lovely acting and singing, just right.

The Ghosts both past and present (Jack Pocock and Nick Skinner) again lovely character parts and well played.

What can I say about the “Charity Collectors” ( Jo Postle and Deb Hughes), they “hammed” to perfection and its not everyday you see nuns in bloomers..

In fact, everyone gave their best and there was not one weak link. The soloist and chorus work had obviously been well rehearsed, and it showed. This small stage is difficult to work with, but the set design was good and the changes were seamless.

This society has a large age range and always makes the most of their talents, they improve with every production I’ve attended and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Thank you for your kind invitation, and don’t forget me next time.
