Once again KYDZ turned a collection of songs into a fabulous, entertaining and inspiring concert.  The collection of melodies put together by the strong production team gave everyone the opportunity for their moment in the spotlight.  Throughout the production every member of the company did their very best, gave their all and the result was some fabulous performances.  Every song selected was appropriate to the singer and was clearly a number they enjoyed performing.

‘The Bright New Day’ opening was a great way to celebrate the move back into their refurbished performance venue and also gave us an introduction to the strong and confident performances we were going to see throughout the show.  I enjoyed every number in particular ‘The Greatest Showman Medley’, ‘I’d Rather Be Me’ and ‘Always Look On The Bright Side of Life’.  Throughout the production the cast all smiled and sang out clearly – demonstrating both their hard work in rehearsals and their enjoyment of performing.  I was also impressed with the sharp choreography which suited the staging and the abilities of the company.

As well as songs there were short scenes which had been written by the cast to hold together the production – again these were very entertaining and showed the many talents of the group.  There was a solo dance performance from Hannah Woollett which was well choreographed and the performance of Radioactive by Michael Corcoran and Peter Harris included a clever video film by Georgia Knights.

The cast were supported by an excellent technical team and the guidance given by the Leadership Team is evident in the well organised and effective running of this fabulous group.   As always the most important and impressive thing about any KYDZ concert is the wonderful way everyone works together to achieve a great outcome.  The group have developed an innovative way to ensure that everyone performs to the best of their ability and shows their many talents.

Congratulations to everyone involved – a super nights entertainment.
