Based on the film, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” the musical tells the tale of two competing con men on the French Riviera; one experienced and suave takes the other a rookie con man, under his wing. At times they work together, but in competition and both end up losing out.

Patrick Callaghan gave a good portrayal of the trickster Lawrence Jameson, His diction was clear; whether refined English, German or Spanish. Good comic timing.

Matt Bryant as his younger rival Freddy Benson gave another good portrayal, seizing whatever opportunity to fleece the unsuspecting, very much a likeable rogue. Emma-Jayne Morris provided the perfect foil as Christine Colgate, the butter wouldn't melt in the mouth 'little innocent' American heiress, who becomes the target for the conniving duo.

Cecilia Bawler as one of Lawrence's besotted admirers was most impressive in her number 'What Was A Woman To Do'. Tobi Edwards as Andre Thibault, Chief of Police and Eily Harrington as Jolene, a rich American oil heiress both gave fine performances.

The small chorus worked hard throughout this production ably supporting the cast.

The production was attractively costumed and the staging worked well, direction, musical direction and choreography were very good . Set, lighting and sound complimented this production.
