It has been quite a while since I last saw Die Fledermaus, but the wonderful music of Johann Strauss lingers with you forever, so full of memorable melodies.  All Souls are an extremely good singing society and they pulled out all the stops with this one.

Gabriel Eisenstein (Brian Harrison) and his wife Rosalinda (Amy Ellison) were a perfect match. Superb singing from all the principal characters, it was a delight to see and hear Doctor Falke (Gerry Wheatcroft) back on stage again, (I understand he had his arm twisted) well done whoever was responsible!  Another excellent performance from Prince Orlofsky (Penny Mcgovern) quite a change of character for her, but beautifully sung as usual.  The comedy came from Frank the Prison Governor and Frosch the Police Sergeant with their drunken antics.

The ball gowns for Rosalinda and Adele had been designed and made by two third year students from a local college, absolutely beautiful.  I am sure they would have graced any professional show in London.  They were complimented by lovely costumes by Ian Stead.  All Souls always use two grand pianos in the pit, and under the direction of Colin Akers they are a delight to listen to.   Congratulations on a pleasent evenings entertainment.
