Die Fledermaus

Opera Integra produced an evening of excellent singing at an unusual venue. They overcame challenges over space, staging and a lack of audience rake, although the long reverb in the church posed some problems with making the words audible, particularly those songs which were taken at an unusually brisk pace.

The orchestration was a lovely arrangement beautifully played by the small but most competent orchestra. Classy singing from this group - more used to grand opera - a lightness of touch and good work on spoken dialogue all showed their flexibility.
