With laughter all the way, my second Pantomime of the season had a jolly good script by Alan P Frayn and was interpreted in true panto fashion by Producer Karen Riding with lots of Hisses, Boos and 'Oh Yes It Is' or 'Oh No It Isn't' in all the right places. Enthusiasum always abounds with the Collegians from the tiny tots to the more mature members. The Panto commenced with the very evil King Rat, (Cameron Sherry) he held his wicked character throuhgout and had an excellent singing voice to boot. Of course, the lovely Fairy Bowbells, (Victoria Czartowski) triumphed over the nasty king Rat as always. An experienced Dame Dolly Dumpling, (James Creegan) and her sidekick Idle Jack, (Chris Nuttall) oozed comedy along with Captain Cuttlefish and Scupper, (Janet Jackson, Susan Cunningham). A fine duet of principal Boy and Girl, the thigh slapping Dick Whittington, (Tyler Schofield) and the demure (Phoebe Wigglesworth) complimented each other perfectly. The highlight of the pantomime was
Tom the Cat, (Carrie Butterworth) her all singing, all dancing acrobatic performance delighted the audience. A good strong performance from The Sultan of Morocco (Jeremy Handley) and Alderman Fitzwarren, (Pete Forsyth).
Every character on stage produced an excellent portrayal, along with a stage full of beautifully costumed dancers that enhanced the production. Good stage sets and a lovely underwater scene with good lighting effects along with pyrotechnics. A nice little Orchestra complimented everyone on stage.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening's entertainment, congratulations to all involved both on and off stage.
