This was my first visit to United Players in my capacity as NODA rep. and I was welcomed and greeted with a smile.

United Players have converted St William's church hall into a reasonable working space for panto. Dick Whittington is not an easy panto, but writers Alex Wilson and Maddy White made it fun.

I liked the set, simple but effective. Lighting I felt was too dark on occasions. How Alex Wilson (Director) got so many cast on stage at times, was beyond belief. I have never seen a cast so big - 30 or so. How can I mention all of you, I can’t.

You all, from the leads to ensemble gave this panto it’s oomph!! I particularlyliked the “Under the sea”, and the ”Titanic” scene was hilarious. Costumes were just adequate and colourful.

Musical Director Graham Tolhurst's choice of music was topical and the cast did their best. Choreography (Celia Cloete) was simple but effective.

What a great afternoon’s entertainment you gave my guest and I, from the opening, to the tea and bread pudding in the interval, to a rousing end.

United Players you should be proud of yourselves. It was great to see, and meet you all on the way out. Well done.
