‘Death by Fatal Murder’ is one of the ‘Inspector Pratt’ trilogy – spoofs of the Agatha Christie genre of whodunits.
From the minute you walked in the hall the welcoming atmosphere made you feel well at ease. Steve Magor and Neil Mapplebeck returned once again as the crime solving Inspector Pratt and Constable Thompkins, mingling with the audience from the very beginning. They work so well together delivering their lines with passion and feeling.
We are introduced to each of the characters. Jo-Ann Smith as Nancy Allwright, Ruth Hamblett as Ginny Farquhar, Julie Hobson as Blodwyn Morgan, Francesco Falcioni as Enzo Garibaldi and Jim Woods as Squadron Leader Roger Allwright. They all gave good characterisations, delivering their lines with good pace. Of course the cast is not complete without the lovely old dear Joan Maple, portrayed by Norma Timney with great ease and warmth. Finally Luke Goddard, as Constable Atkins, seemed completely confused by the whole proceedings.
It is clear the cast work well together and George Collins should be congratulated for a well put together play with good scenery and lighting. Well done to everybody
