The plot centres around the bequeath of a theatre by the deceased owner to five women who have been close to him during his life. The man in question was a husband to two, father to one, son in law to another and boss to the fifth.
Frankie Rees played Theresa, the eternal optimist, still compensating for the death of her father by hoping to make his theatre a success, Good natural stage presence. Good performance.
Jo Herco-Thomas played Pam, the rather testy daughter of Betty and down trodden ex-wife. Bold performance throughout the play creating some lovely pieces of theatre. Good stage presence and strong character.
Trish Gould played Betty, the mother of the deceased. This actress has excellent comedy characterisation. Good strong performance.
Leanne Algeo played Sharon, the punk-haired secretary was the driving force behind the renovation of the run down venue. Good diction and all round performance.
Laura Pike played Jackie, taking every opportunity to put her mark on her status whilst attempting to score points over the deceased’s first wife. This actress gave a good performance, diction was good and good stage presence.
The experienced cast worked so well together, bouncing off each other as they came to terms with the dilemmas of the play.
The set was well designed and functional and the lighting was appropriate. Stage props and costumes were authentic.
Thank you to your hospitality, I look forward to the next production.
