Another pleasant evening's entertainment from the Collegian's, with a production full of glitz and glamour that bubbled with enthusiasm from start to finish.  From the "white" opening, along with fast slick choreography, that eventually burst into vivid colour in the "Just Arrived" number.  There were impressive performances from the leading characters Tony/Stephen (Paul Metcalfe) and Lola (Abbie Sampson).  They both had strong powerful voices and interacted perfectly together.   Rachel Warlop (Gladys) and Chris Etty, (Sam)  complimented each other and delighted the audience with the interpretation of their roles and comedy timing.  The sinister Rico ( Chris Nuttall) and the fiery Conchita, (Phillipa Johnstone) both held their Cuban accents perfectly throughout.  The principals had a good strong backing from the chorus, who obviously enjoyed every minute they were on stage.  The colourful sparkling costumes also added to the spectacale.  This was a difficult show to stage with so many scenes, but a simple basic set along with excellent lighting helped the show to zip along.  The stage crew worked extremely hard whipping the props on and off as quickly as possible. There was a small vibrant orchestra of accomplished musicians to compliment the production.  Congratulations to all at the Copa, Copacabana! Well done.
