Although a perennial favourite with audiences and amateur companies, plays by Alan Ayckbourn are deceptively difficult to get right. The four interlinked plays presented for this production of Confusions were at their best when played absolutely straight, there being pathos and humour in some notable performances by individuals who captured this essence.
