Alright on the Night - A local amateur dramatic company prepares for their dress rehearsal. What could possibly go wrong? Everything it seems. Seven competent actors in this one act play. John Selmes, Kelly Harrington, Sally Murphy, Nick Swain, Robyn Harris, Paul Harris, and Esther Murphy all gave us sterling performances.
Gentlemen Callers - Lavinia and her friends like to meet regularly for afternoon tea and cribbage. The old ladies are disturbed by three men burglars who quickly find that, with these old ladies, they have taken on more than they can chew. (But not the Battenburg cake.) In fact it's the last job they ever do. Six actors made up this play. Three competent actors: Mel Newman, Lorraine Camp and Sam Digby, with three supporting men actors Andy Soper, Jon Selmes, and Paul Harris, adding to the very funny plot. With a good twist at the end.
Rambles on Radio - Christopher is happy to be presenting his play on radio, with his daughter in the star role, but others are less content with the casting of her. Worst of all, there’s more drama behind the microphone than meets the eye as to what is going out over the air. This to me was the funniest play of the three. Lots of action and props to deal with and all the characters. Six actors made this play merrily roll along, those being, Derek Elmore, Tanith Rudd, Colin Parker, Janine Davis, Nick Swain and Adam Wigmore. They got the pace just right.
‘Comedy Capers’ Director Francine Harris is an established and much sought-after exceptional Director in Medway. She took St Pauls Drama to new hights of excellence, and she has moulded her cast to perfection, and, along with Adam Wigmore as Assistant Director, gave us the audience a perfect comedy evening. Making up her team were Al Dollimore and Lily Dollimore as stage managers, Sound Effects Chas Alder, Wardrobe Eleanor Hall and Sue Balneaves, and production Manager Keith Jackson.
Thank you, St Pauls, for giving my guest and I three one act plays that were directed to perfection, keep this standard up in community theatre.
