Designed by Mike Tierney, the set was minimal, but very believable and authentic of the 1930s. A kitchen table, stove, crockery and a fireplace cleverly lit created the kitchen of Cold Comfort Farm where the play mostly takes place

Overall, I felt there was a really good connection with all the cast, and as the play was about a family, it worked well. It was a well-rehearsed play, shown by the ease of their lines and movements.

Director, Anna Parker, did a very good job, not only did she achieve a well-rehearsed, and connected group of players, she also created a very believable 1930s dysfunctional family between the wars. The blocking was very good and, for such a small stage, she did exceptionally well ensuring all of players had their moments to shine.
