Cocktail Sticks/Two In Torquay

This double bill essentially provided a launchpad for an Edinburgh Fringe performance. Given audience familiarity with Alan Bennett as a personality and performer, this play was particularly challenging in that any deviation from his distinctive delivery would be very noticeable. This danger was successfully avoided. However, there were dramatic details which a demanding fringe audience might well take issue with. Nonetheless, BCP are to be commended for attempting a deceptively ambitious piece of theatre alongside the much lighter and shorter piece.
