Cinderella is always an audience pleaser and this production certainly lived up to all my expectations!
Angelique Duff as Cinderella was beautifull, with lots of charm and sincerity. Good stage presence and a lovely warm acting style which was perfect for the role as well as a lovely singing voice.
Michael Bennett as Prince sang and acted confidently, a strong performances was maintained throughout.
The two Ugly Sisters were excellent. Jonathan Coombs as Ravishing Rita and Peter Rees as Wicked Wanda were a great pairing and worked extremely well together. They extracted every piece of humour, and the audience lapped it up.
Nicholas Preen as Buttons developed an excellent rapport with the audience and consistently held them in the palms of his hands. Ideally cast.
Lisa Perry as Fairy Godmother opened the show with lots of confidence and got the audience involved from the start and she certainly brought this character up to date giving a humorous incarnation of Cinderella’s guardian angel.
Craig Thompson as Dandini had a good singing voice and gave a confident performance.
Tony Caley Burnell as Baron Hardup was perfectly cast as the poor but loving father, good characterisation.
The chorus, both junior and senior completed the line-up and presented a nice uniformity on stage and had clearly been well-rehearsed.
Congratulations must also go to the technical team, Costumes we’re bright and colourful, Scenery supplied by Stage a Show Limited complimented this production. Lighting supplied by Lightsource Production Services worked well with both costumes and scenery.
