This was a traditional version of the well-known fairy tale.

Both scenery and set were simple but explicit creating the right atmosphere. The fairy coach was a dream, striking the perfect setting for Cinderella going to the ball. The whole backstage crew performed a fine supporting role enabling the cast to play their roles to the full.

Both costume and make up were of a good standard and congratulations must go to the wardrobe team for their endeavours on a strict budget. Certain costumes require particular praise for whilst the Ugly Sisters were no beauties, they were wonderfully dressed. The transformation of Cinders dress to ball gown was wonderful.

This panto razzled and dazzled us right from the start - what a tremendous opening! Admiration is due for the work and organisation required to get so many people on such a small stage so effectively. The whole company looked as they were enjoying the show as did the audience. The panto had all the usual ghost and kitchen scenes which kept the children amused with the “Oh, no he didn’t, Oh, yes he did” lines. The ensemble reacted well to the mood with smiles or frowns as required. The Prince, Dandini and Cinderella performed well together, as did the comedy duo of Bodget and Leggett with Buttons the love-lorn servant having most of the corny jokes. Undoubtedly the stars of the show were the Ugly Sisters.   A glitter studded performance which quite rightly was acclaimed by the patrons..
