With a warm welcome from the front of house team our evening got off to a great start, playing to full house there was a really good atmosphere in the Civic Hall.  I believe pantomimes are all about having fun and Brighouse Theatre Productions assembled a large cast that absolutely made sure the sudience thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The Alan Frayn script transported us to the village of Stoneybroke, with the inhabitants singing and dancing making it a bright and colourful opening with lovely scenery.

Cinderella (Emma Newsome) was well cast and had a strong singing voice, she was nicely paired with Prince Charming (Harriet Midgeley)  with an extremely good back up from Dandini (Candice Whitaker).  The little and large "Uglies" Grizelda and Gertrude, (Johh Murphy, Rob Green) and oh what a pair they were, they handled the comic timing and never missed an opportunity to pull out every ounce of comedy.  Rubella Hardup (Debbie Granger) gave good attention to detail and delivered her songs well.  Buttons (Diane Bowers) interacted well with the children in audience.  There was more comedy from Bodgett and Leggett who also had a good rapport with their audience.  The pretty Fairy Godmother (Victoria Taylor) delivered her "rhyming couplets" well.

The wardrobe team must have worked very hard to produce all those lovely costumes from village peasants, to ball gowns and sparkly ones for the finale.  Good choice of songs this year with lots of enthusiasm and smiles all around.

Cinderella is one of the best loved panto's and this one had all the ingredients for a successful fun, filled family pantomime.  We had tremendous fun from start to finish.

My sincere congratulations to all involved both on and off stage.
