Christmas Concert 2021

The West Moors Singers has seen a slow decline to their numbers over several years and I thought that Covid19 had brought on the closure of the group. Therefore, I was very pleased to learn that they were up and running again.  For more than twenty years I have  attended the Singers  Christmas Concert and to me it has always felt like the start of the festive season. 

For this concert West Moors Singers had combined with St Martin’s Gospel Community Choir, who are also based in the village of West Moors, There were a total of 25 persons on the stage, of which 8 were members of both choirs.  West Moors Singers were conducted by Musical Director Dianne Tompkins and accompanied by John Porter. The St Martin’s Community Choir were conducted by Artistic Director Daniela Ievolo and were accompanied by, joint Artistic Director , Francesco Iannuzzo.

It was lovely well balanced concert, that was very entertaining.  Each choir show casing their own individual style of music. and they combined for several numbers which included a selection of Christmas Carols with audience participation.  

Congratulations to all concerned, It was a most enjoyable evening of music and it was lovely to be able catch up and chat with some old friends and meet new ones.
