Christmas Concert

I understand that West Moors Singers have had a few hurdles to overcome this summer, but never the less they still manage to put together a very nice selection for their annual Christmas Concert and the singers had their spark back that had been missing in recent concerts. I was very impressed with the Christmas Cantata “Night of Miracles” conducted by Hilton Jones. It was very refreshing, a little light hearted and I found the song “Sleep on Holy Child” very moving.

As usual there was audience participation with the traditional Carol. As a Yorkshire man I have to give top marks for the opening number. “While Shepherds watched their flocks by night” sang to the tune of the Yorkshire national Anthem “Ilkley Moor bah tat “ an excellent start to a very festive evening.
